The story of a parrot

It's strange how things happen.
I have worked in the conservation and environment sector as a communications officer, and I write fiction. It was those two things that brought me to the attention of the Friends of the Western Ground Parrot last year.
This resulted in me spending several months writing a manuscript for a children's picture book about the plight of the critically endangered Western Ground Parrot. With lots of assistance from the Friends, the Department and other writers, I've finished it and have submitted it to a publisher.
I've got all my fingers and toes crossed!
